Well this is cool: Neil deGrasse Tyson interviews Star Trek TNG actors LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner at Comicon 2012.
Now I want to see other such intros. I can imagine the MacGyver one would be cool.
Oh my! I can’t wait to have one of these displays.
One of the great things is that due to the fact that users can see what’s behind the screen, it also produces a feeling of 3D for the images on the screen. Just look at the video. Pff… I simply can’t wait to see a transparent tablet. That will be the day I’m going to buy a tablet and really feel like I’ve reached the future… Star Trek style!
It seems the future is near… or at least the SciFi one is. Microsoft has developed something that starts to resemble the HoloDeck from Star Trek movies, called the HoloDesk. Sweet! I wonder when will we be able to create virtual touch in such an environment.
… and yes, the story-teller is Sir Patrick Stewart.
Here are the actual full documentaries and a summary of it all… And the holistic view embedded in these videos is, well, outstanding, ranging from politics and economy to religion and science. Now, to what extent you agree with this or not, that’s up to you to decide.
